Alex Seise has always known he was destined for something exciting, something fascinating. He embarked on his dream career–to become a writer–when he applied to The College of New Jersey back in 2005. Alex graduated from there with honors in May 2009, but he’ll never forget that it was the place where his writing career began.

Or was it?

The story actually started several decades ago when the late Robert Juppé began a journalistic legacy working as an education reporter for a small paper in North Jersey. Juppé would have six children with his wife Gloria; one of his daughters would eventually give birth to Alex, and Robert’s passion for writing apparently flowed quite strongly through two generations.

Alex knew he wanted to become a writer when he entered high school, and he soon found himself working as the editor-in-chief of both his high school newspaper and magazine. He would graduate Valedictorian of the class of 2005, and his lust for writing would drive him to search for strong journalism programs at several colleges. He was accepted at The College of New Jersey, whose intense journalism program is powered by media professionals impassioned by the sharing of their wisdom and tips of the trade. During his junior year, he interned at the prestigious Philadelphia Inquirer where his first byline was published on September 14, 2007—his grandfather’s birthday. Then, during his senior year, he interned at New Jersey Life magazine and enjoyed writing about the state’s finest offerings.

Besides writing, Alex enjoys cooking, photography, designing, and savoring all things nature has to offer. He would love to move to the state of Maine one day. His favorite color is crimson and his favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo. In February 2009, he married his partner David and thoroughly enjoys spending time with him at their condo in Metuchen.

Alex always strives to learn and apply his knowledge to the pieces he is working on. His fascination with creating cohesive, all-inclusive projects drives him as an optimist and as a perfectionist, and it makes all of his works professional and of the highest caliber possible. Feel free to read through several of his pieces on this site, and make sure to drop him a line at alex (at) alexseise.com. He would love to hear from you!
